Introduction:

Lichen Planus is an inflammatory skin condition that causes itchy, flat-topped, purplish bumps on the skin or lacy white patches inside the mouth. It is not contagious and usually occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks the skin or mucous membranes. Though the exact cause is unknown, it can be triggered by stress, medications, or certain infections. It often resolves on its own but may recur in some people.
